An Introduction

Here's a way for us to keep in touch with our friends and family both near and far......please leave comments, so we know who's been visiting, we love to hear from you! Here we share news of our family, photos of the kids and also a little bit about what the Lord is doing in our hearts here and there.....Enjoy!

previous and upcoming events....

Well, as I seem to be slacking a little in the blogging department, I seem to be only able to post photos and descriptions of what we've been up to....and am thankful to be able to do that!  My energy level and 'ability to think' level have both decreased dramatically over the past couple of weeks.....only 4 1/2 weeks left until Baby Simeon's expected arrival (though I'm really hoping for an early arrival this time  :-)

Here's a few pictures of what we've been up to since I last posted.....Hope this finds you well.....

We had friends from long ago visit us for a few days....It was a short but very nice trip, we sure would have liked for them to stay longer....This group of kids belong to 3 different families, it seems that this group grows every year by one or two kids....and is about to grow even more soon  :-)

We had to take a few head shots of Anthony all dressed up because he's going to be officially graduating on May 15th from The Master's Seminary!  This picture was needed for their graduation booklet.....we praise God for how He displayed His faithfulness to us during our time in Seminary, wouldn't trade that time for anything!

All of our kids have taken bottles up until they are 2 (and maybe a little bit later than that)....this is one of Essie's last days of having her much loved bottle of milk.....she's now a big girl, no more bottles, pacifiers or day-time diapers  :-(  thankfully, there's another one on the way to take over the role of 'Baby' in the house....

We visited my parents in Colorado for a week or so.....and the kids got to experience some snow!  They were so very excited about seeing snow, and pitiful as it was, they were very enthusiastic about the tiny patch of ice they found on my mom's driveway...they shoveled it, turned it into snowballs best they could, and just played in it a ton....we're talking a 2' x3' square of ice....so we finally took them to the mountains where they could put on their snow clothes and sled....though they were not too keen on the snow-clothes at first, they sure enjoyed the sledding....well, Malachi and Hannah did....Essie "No like-it sled" and preferred to stay with me....the picture above is me literally baby-sitting....ie....sitting with THREE babies, Essie (2), Sydney (1) and Simeon (soon to arrive)......

What a cool Grandma to get in on the sledding action!!!

This was a real dream come true for Malachi....he's been talking about going sledding for months and months....
Hannah also had a good time....though I think her favorite part was eating the snow!
We mostly made sure it was clean snow....
So this may look like an ordinary egg....but don't be fooled!  The kids actually watched a chicken lay this egg at a place called 'Urban Farms' where most of my sister's horses are now kept...it's a farm in the city (hence the name) that reaches out to city kids who are a little troubled....they have a great success rate, too!  The kids found a chicken in one of the playhouses, laying an egg in a kids play dish....my mom retrieved the egg (poor little chicken), and the kids enjoyed celebrating and eating their discovery....

Sisters at the zoo while Malachi went off to a full day of behind the scenes camp at the zoo....payed for with funds from his home-school charter -- Thank you San Diego Unified!

Evidence that Essie actually did ride on a sled....maybe a couple of times....not much more  :-)

Everyone on their Colorado bikes, with Grandma Ellie.
Malachi and Hannah, with Grandma Ellie at the top of the hill.....me still sitting with the babies....
Essie turned 2 and as usual we celebrated for a week or so....it seems like we always have multiple birthday celebrations for our kiddos...this one was with our family here in San Diego....she enjoyed it and was ecstatic about finally getting the long awaited Birthday Cake.....for over a month every day, she would tell us, "Birthday coming up, almost two, CAKE!"....she ended up with two birthday cakes (one in Colorado, one in San Diego), a birthday pan-cake the morning of her actual birthday and birthday Costco Ice-cream the evening of her birthday with just our family....
Here's a recent picture of me...now at 35 weeks....in the canyon by our house....we weren't planning on taking pictures of me, just going on a walk, but these flowers were just so pretty....it looks like we live in the country (something I would surely not be opposed to)....
A picture of the kids loving on their new baby brother.....they are SOOO excited for him to arrive.....Essie thinks that my belly button is Baby Simeon, so whenever she goes to kiss him she insists on kissing my belly button, she also rubs my BB saying "awww.....so cuuute!", whenever we've had a new baby in the house the older one has always fed their 'babies' from their belly buttons when I've fed the real baby (not from my belly button)....kids and belly buttons are pretty funny together!
Family picture.....notice that Hannah is in boy clothes....that's because Malachi took it upon himself to choose her clothes for her that afternoon....sweet brother!

Alrighty, so how's that for catching up??? thanks for hanging in there if you've made it to the end here.....today is Good Friday, the day we remember our Saviour's crucifixion in order to become the one true sacrificial lamb of God on our behalf.  All month we've been studying what's known as 'Passion Week' or the week before Jesus' death and resurrection....We have some helpful resources for this that I hope to share in another post....but for now, please honor and remember why this holiday exists....it is so not about eggs and bunnies (I really don't find any sense in the bunny-factor of easter)..... but it's all about God who became a man so that he could die as a sacrifice and a ransom for the many who would believe in Him as the Messiah.....He came to die for us!  Just so that we could be redeemed from the clutches of sin and death....mind-boggling!

Please worship Him this season, and appreciate His sacrifice like never before....He alone is worthy of our praise and worship....

He is Risen!
